The Elder Grey Meeting House was built in 1806, but it was moved to this location in 1832. It was never given a proper foundation and had settled with some sill deterioration. We were hired by another contractor to support the building, excavate, and build a fieldstone foundation.

We excavated to below frost and then installed a footing of crushed stone, which we compacted every 6 inches. No concrete or mortar was used on this project.

The foundation stones are all dry laid.
